Gamucha, shawl, painting: PM Modi buys from women entrepreneurs on International Women’s Day | India News

NEW DELHI: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi bought a ‘gamucha‘ from Assam, a shawl from Nagaland, a handcrafted Gond Paper Painting from Self-Help Groups and women entrepreneurs.
Sharing the products PM bought from women entrepreneurs, he said the products purchased “celebrate women enterprise, creativity and India’s culture”.
Women are playing a leading role in India’s quest to become ‘aatmanirbhar’, he tweeted, urging people to commit themselves to encouraging entrepreneurship among women.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi greeted women on the occasion of International Women’s Day and said India takes pride in their many accomplishments. PM Modi said it was his our government’s honour to work towards furthering women empowerment in the country across a wide range of sectors.
