‘Madrassa students can pick from gamut of subjects’ | India News

NEW DELHI: In response to the TOI report on NIOS offering courses on Indian knowledge tradition — including the vedas, teachings of the Gita and Ramayan epic narratives, among others — at 100 madrassas, published on March 3, the education ministry tweeted ‘to clarify’ that various subjects are offered to learners under Special Provision for Quality Education of Madrassas without any hard line boundaries of fixed subject combinations, unlike in the formal education system.
The TOI report itself mentioned that students have a choice on subjects. The report quoted an NIOS official, who said there is “a gamut of subjects in our open education system that madrassa students can pick”.
