3 Reds ran cos to launder extorted cash: ED | India News

NEW DELHI: The ED has filed a chargesheet against three Maoists in a special PMLA court in Ranchi on Monday. Each of these extremists had a firm each registered and controlled by them to launder money extorted from contractors and businessmen. ED had earlier attached assets of the accused to the tune of Rs 5 crore.
“A prosecution complaint has been filed before the PMLA court, Ranchi against three extremists of Tritiya Prastuti Committee and their three firms where these extremists used to collect funds through extortion of the contractors, coal traders, transporters in Magadh Amrapali Coal block area of Jharkhand,” ED said. NIA has registered an FIR in the case and is probing Maoists’ network across Jharkhand.
